Raven's Lodge breeders of Baroque Horses

Raven's Lodge is a small stud situated in the small country town of Heywood 15 mins north of Portland, and approx and hour west of Warrnambool. Our stud is nestled amongst some of the prettiest dairy country in Victoria, the land is green and lush almost all year round perfect for the upbringing of healthy, happy young horses, we are dedicated to breeding, competing and owning quality Friesians, Freisian Warmbloods. Andalusians and now Warlanders.

Our aim as breeders is to not only be at the forfront of our chosen breed, but to ensure the public are educated and aware of these beautiful breeds, before beginning our breeding program we did extensive research on the Friesian breed itself, our goal is to produce a refined riding horse, capable of all equine disciplines without forgoing the Friesian traits that we all love so much. 

While we love the purebred Friesian horses it must be said that we do not breed our Warmblood horses so they look exactly like a purebred Friesians, we breed for conformation, nature, ability and looks.  The Friesian Warmblood is not a purebred but a Sport Horse and should be known for its ability as much as its heritage.

The Andalusian is a beautiful elegant and refined riding horse capable of many disiplines, our horses are chosen to be capable and competitive mounts, yet gentle and loving in nature with a look to rival any.

The Warlander has not been bred in Australia since the late 90's, at Raven's Lodge we will aim to re-introduce the breed back to those who have a love for both the Friesian and Andalusian breeds with 1 or 2 quality foals to be bred each year, offering a stunning look, elegant movement and natural ability for anything you please.
